Job Description

Carhart Plumbing Inc. is seeking an organized and dependable Shipping, Receiving & Delivery Associate to support efficient warehouse and field operations by accurately receiving, inspecting, organizing, stocking, delivering, and tracking plumbing materials, tools, and equipment.
This role maintains dependable inventory flow, prepares materials for crews, makes timely deliveries to jobsites and company locations, and keeps the warehouse organized and ready for daily operations. Practical knowledge of plumbing materials, along with general mechanical and construction knowledge, is required.

Core Responsibilities

•      Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities against purchase orders or delivery documents, and inspect materials for damage, defects, or incorrect items before acceptance.
•      Document received materials accurately and communicate shortages, overages, damaged items, or order discrepancies to the Logistics Manager promptly.
•      Maintain accurate inventory quantities and locations using InFlow and other company computer or tablet systems.
•      Stock, label, organize, and rotate warehouse materials so commonly used items are easy to locate and ready for field crews.
•      Restock company trucks and stage materials for crews according to company requests, schedules, and job requirements.
•      Load, secure, transport, and deliver plumbing materials, tools, and equipment to jobsites and company locations safely and on schedule, including equipment deliveries using company trailers up to 24 feet in length.
•      Verify delivery contents with the receiving person or field crew and obtain required signatures, photos, or electronic confirmation when applicable.
•      Prepare stock and equipment transfers in a timely manner and help ensure materials are ready before crews leave for jobsites.
•      Maintain orderly receiving, storage, staging, and loading areas throughout the workday.
•      Assist with weekly and quarterly inventory audits and investigate discrepancies as directed by the Logistics Manager.
•      Monitor warehouse stock levels and communicate low-stock or unusual usage conditions before they affect field operations.
•      Maintain tools and equipment in designated storage locations and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
•      Coordinate professionally with the Logistics Manager, office staff, plumbers, service technicians, project crews, drivers, and vendors.
•      Complete basic daily reports and respond to company email and electronic requests throughout the workday.
•      Perform other duties assigned by management.

Receiving and Inventory Standards

•      Confirm that expected shipments are received on the scheduled date whenever possible and promptly report missing or delayed deliveries.
•      Complete scheduled deliveries accurately and on time, communicate delays promptly, and ensure materials are protected during transport and handoff.
•      Verify item description, quantity, and condition before materials are placed into stock.
•      Keep inventory records current so warehouse quantities reflect actual stock on hand.
•      Return materials, tools, and equipment to their assigned locations after use or transfer.
•      Keep high-use plumbing materials consistently organized and accessible for efficient truck stocking and job preparation.

Minimum Requirements

•      Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required for company vehicle operation and deliveries, including the ability to safely tow and maneuver company trailers up to 24 feet in length when assigned.
•      Knowledge of general plumbing materials, tools, and equipment.
•      Proficient inventory-management and organizational skills.
•      Basic math, counting, and recordkeeping skills.
•      Proficient tablet and computer skills.
•      Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions.
•      Ability to work independently while coordinating with the Logistics Manager and field crews.

Physical and Work Requirements

•      Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
•      Ability to stand and move for extended periods during the workday.
•      Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in hot South Florida conditions.
•      Ability to safely handle, load, secure, unload, and deliver plumbing materials, tools, and equipment in warehouse, vehicle, and jobsite environments, including equipment transported on trailers up to 24 feet in length.

Performance Expectations

•      Materials and equipment are received, checked, documented, and stored accurately.
•      Truck stocking, crew material requests, and scheduled deliveries are completed on time and with minimal missing or incorrect items.
•      Weekly and quarterly inventory audits are completed as assigned.
•      Warehouse stock, tools, and equipment remain organized and in their assigned locations.
•      Equipment issues and inventory discrepancies are communicated early rather than becoming delays for field crews.
•      The warehouse remains clean, orderly, and ready to support daily company operations.

Compensation and Benefits

•      Competitive compensation starting at $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
•      50% healthcare match after one year of employment, or earlier if determined by management.
•      Paid holiday time throughout the year as determined by management. Additional paid time is available after one year of employment, consistent with company policy.
