Position Summary: The Assistant Installation Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the installation department. This may include assisting with daily inventory distribution and warehouse duties, installation production scheduling, pre-construction walkthroughs, service scheduling and follow-up, and third-party installer recruiting and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Installation Manager in daily operations of the installation department including job production scheduling, warehouse and inventory distribution and counts, service scheduling and resolution, and pre-construction walkthroughs.
  • Assist as needed with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of third-party independent installers.
  • Work with the Installation Manager to ensure the daily installation schedule is attained.
  • Accurately enter job orders into the operations app for scheduling, inventory, and job costing purposes.
  • Order product based on job specs and products related to the installation process to maintain adequate stock and custom inventory.
  • Work with the office administrative staff to ensure organized work and flow of jobs from schedule to installation completion.
  • Perform administrative duties such as building job packets and solving funding issues.
  • Assist third-party installation partners on job sites as needed with product staging and transport.
  • Partner with Service and Sales Operations teams to proactively address customer issues and resolve on first service call.
  • Work with the Field Trainer on individual performance, abilities, and capacities of the installers.
  • Collaborate with all office and corporate functional teams to meet/exceed office and regional goals.
  • May be responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks, inclusive of shipping and receiving, as well as checking merchandise depending on location.
  • May be responsible for properly installation various company home solution products in customers homes based on volume and staffing.
  • Follow established job site safety rules, OHSA guidelines, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in home improvement construction and/or residential installations such as walk-in tubs, windows, stairlifts, water filtration systems, gutter and gutter protection installation, kitchen refacing, etc.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without dropping the ball.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a roll up your sleeves and win every day mentality.
  • Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals.
  • Detail-oriented and can focus on task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately.
  • Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
  • Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first.
  • Must hold a valid drivers license.
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from job site to perform job duties.
  • Must be comfortable ascending and descending ladders of varying heights to perform services.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Experience in skilled trades such as plumbing, electric, carpentry, etc.
  • Leadership experience.

Travel Requirements:

  • Local travel required.

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

  • Additional hours may be required (exempt positions).

Physical Requirements:

  • Field office/manufacturing/construction environment.
  • Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment and performs work outside in varying temperatures and climates.
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
