Job description

Football Defensive Coordinator 

Saint Ignatius College Prep Chicago, IL 

Description: 

The Saint Ignatius College Prep Football program seeks Assistant Coaches for the upcoming season. All Assistant Coaches report to the Head Coach and the Athletic Department. The program is in search of the following roles: 

  • Defensive Assistants (Varsity) - 2
  • Assistant Coach (Sophomore)
  • Assistant Coach (Freshmen) 

Job Summary: 

Assistant Coaches are expected to assist the Head Coach with presence at daily practices and games during the season. Assistant Coaches are also able to assist the program with preseason and offseason activities. The football season begins in early-August and lasts through late-October (playoffs not included). 

Qualifications: 

  • Previous coaching and/or playing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrate strong teaching, leadership and organizational qualities with assisting in a competitive and comprehensive interscholastic football program.
  • Foster a team environment that supports a strong work ethic and the appropriate behavior and sportsmanship of all participants.
  • Exhibit great passion for football and the overall high school athletics experience.
  • Effectively and positively communicate with student-athletes, administration, parents and coaches.
