OVERVIEW 
Full-time/Permanent Employee  
Location: Hybrid with SCIF Access in Langley AFB, VA; Offutt AFB/Omaha, NE (will consider JBSA-Lackland and Rome, NY) Candidates must reside within two hours of one of these locations. 
 
As a Cloud Engineer IV, you will assess cloud infrastructure needs, lead the selection and deployment of OpenStack distributions, and design private cloud solutions integrated with hybrid platform management, identity management, and R&D infrastructure. You will automate build pipelines, migrations, security, and compliance while managing cloud and on-premise networking and leveraging Azure for automation. Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, performing administrative tasks, and providing application support. You will enhance security by applying patches, conducting security reviews, and managing access controls while implementing enterprise monitoring solutions using industry-standard tools. As an emerging authority, you will develop technical solutions to complex problems, drive automation initiatives, and create scalable monitoring solutions, dashboards, and alerts. You will collaborate with business and technology leaders to align cloud strategies with organizational objectives. 
 
The proposed salary range for this position is $121,900-$162,500. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Analyze cloud infrastructure needs and participate in selecting and deploying OpenStack distributions 

  • Design and implement private cloud infrastructure while ensuring full integration with hybrid cloud platforms and identity management 

  • Support automation of build pipelines, migrations, security, and compliance in cloud environments 

  • Manage TCP/IP networking in both cloud and on-premise environments 

  • Implement and manage enterprise monitoring solutions using industry-standard technologies 

  • Perform cloud tool administrative tasks, provide application support, and ensure security compliance 

  • Develop monitoring dashboards, escalations, and alerting solutions 

  • Transfer knowledge through documentation and training for the software development organization 

  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems and determine approaches to assignments with significant latitude 

  • Identify opportunities for automation and develop scalable solutions that enhance cloud infrastructure efficiency 

  • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions 

  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded 

  • Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area 

  • Participate in growth efforts as requested 

  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction 

  • Complete personal PDP and attend staff meetings and Storytime (with the camera on) 

  • Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program 

  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Clearance: Active TS/SCI 
Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience 

  • Considered an emerging authority in cloud engineering, applying extensive technical expertise 

  • Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems and determine objectives and approaches with considerable latitude 

  • Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and security principles 

  • Proficiency in scripting or programming for cloud automation 

  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as PagerDuty, Microsoft OMS, or Azure monitoring solutions. 

  • Security +; GICSP, SSCP, or GSEC  

  • Must be available to support a 24/7 on-call schedule, including nights and weekends. Specific on-call expectations will be defined upon team assignment 
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree preferred 

  • Experience with OpenStack distribution selection and deployment 

  • Knowledge of private cloud infrastructure design and implementation 

  • Understanding of hybrid cloud platform management and identity management integration 

  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking in cloud and on-premise environments 

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders 

  • Certifications in one or more cloud platforms, such as CompTIA Cloud+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Kubernetes Administrator or similar.
