Fox Valley Metrology is seeking mechanically and technically inclined individuals to join our growing team of Calibration Technicians.


Whether you have previous calibration experience or come from manufacturing, automotive repair, industrial maintenance, machining, military, quality control, electronics, HVAC, or another hands-on technical field, we want to hear from you.

We provide specialized training and place technicians in the calibration discipline that best matches their experience and strengths. Opportunities include:

What You'll Do

  • Calibrate, inspect, troubleshoot, and verify precision measuring and testing equipment.
  • Perform calibration on a variety of mechanical, electronic, dimensional, and hand measurement instruments.
  • Test, diagnose, and repair equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Follow established calibration procedures and ISO/IEC 17025 quality standards.
  • Document calibration results and maintain accurate service records.
  • Read engineering drawings, technical specifications, and calibration procedures.
  • Develop and improve calibration procedures where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow technicians to complete projects safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Depending on the position, provide on-site calibration support to customer facilities with occasional overnight travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing, machining, maintenance, automotive repair, industrial service, quality control, military, electronics, HVAC, or another technical trade.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to learn new technical processes and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to adapt to new software platforms and follow detailed procedures.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, or calibration experience.
  • Previous calibration or metrology experience.
  • Military PMEL or calibration training.
  • Quality inspection or quality assurance experience.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, indicators, torque tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, force gauges, or other precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints or engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO quality systems or regulated manufacturing environments.
