The Surveillance Sensor Radio Frequency (RF) Solutions Engineering Department within Software Engineering Space and Air Center team is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in the DFW area. You will be an integral part of helping Raytheon further our vision to be the global leader in core and next-generation defense and security solutions. What You Will Do
This position is for a Senior Software Engineer who has professional experience in the development and implementation of software for real-time applications.
Deliverables include but not limited to:
  • Architecting, designing, implementing, testing, and debugging integrated embedded real-time software within heterogenous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
  • Working within a cross-discipline team to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and guaranteed, measurable quality.
  • Teaching, coaching, and mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Contributing to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews.
  • This position may require occasional business-related travel.
  • This job is onsite in McKinney, TX or Plano, TX; applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
  • Development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Experience developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g., test benches, simulators).
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
  • Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
  • Experience with DevSecOps pipeline implementation and use, including Static Code Analysis, Automated Build, and Automated Test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with Test-Driven Development approach.
  • Hands-on experience with Git for version control and GitLab or Artifactory for repository management.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
