Marine Designer/drafter

Design and draft detailed technical drawings for the development of autonomous surface vessels for the Department of Defense

Position Overview:

We are seeking talented and motivated marine designers and drafters to support the development of autonomous surface vessels. This role will provide hands‑on experience in traditional vessel design and advanced autonomous technologies; driving impact in defense innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Support new vessel construction through detailed 2D and 3D modeling and technical drawing production
  • Create and modify ship construction drawings
  • Work directly with naval architects, marine engineers, and electrical engineers on new vessel design implementation
  • Maintain strict drawing standards
  • Create documentation for marine regulatory compliance
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology or similar field of study
  • Minimum 3-5 years of CAD drafting experience
  • Strong fundamentals in one or more areas of vessel design: general design, mechanical design, electrical design, structural design, and piping design
  • Knowledge of maritime regulatory requirements, construction tolerances, and vessel construction processes and sequences
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software like NX, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, and Rhino
