Nightwing brings disruptive technologies, agility, and competitive offerings to customers in the intelligence community, defense, civil, and commercial markets.
**This position is CONTINGENT upon contract award**
Nightwing is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and hands-on experience with complex systems. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Job Duties:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for electrical related project issues
  • Complete project from start to finish without direction
  • Conduct surveys of existing conditions
  • Write technical reports
  • Perform calculations, select equipment, and design systems (lighting, power, fire alarm, and telecom/data systems)
  • Prepare project specifications
  • Respond to Requests for Information during bidding and construction
  • Review construction submittals
  • Conduct and document final inspections
  • Generate As-Built drawings
  • Ensure all project work is completed on schedule and within budget
    Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, power distribution, and signal processing.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation and analysis tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or SPICE.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, AGI32, and SKM
  • Extensive experience with renovation and new projects for commercial, government, and institutional clients
  • Ability to design, analyze, and test analog and digital circuits.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, or IEC for compliance and safety.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving system-level issues.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing reports and presentations.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems and energy efficiency practices.
  • Experience with PCB layout and design tools such as Altium Designer or KiCAD.
  • Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and interference mitigation.
  • Experience in designing systems for harsh or specialized environments (e.g., aerospace, defense).
  • Education and Experience Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience, or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies is a plus.
  • EMC or power electronics certifications are advantageous.
