Job description

PURPOSE: Responsible for the cleanliness of Mall of America while providing a memorable shopping and entertainment experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Responsible for deep cleaning of MOA at night after closing; working 3rd shift hours.
  • Operate commercial custodial power equipment, such as auto floor scrubbers and restroom sanitization equipment
  • Sweep, dust mop, edge and trail mop hard floors, reaching areas that auto scrubber cannot
  • Deep clean amusement park common areas, including scrubbing floors, cleaning queue lines, emptying + cleaning trash cans and sanitizing restrooms.
  • Use auto scrubber, both ride on and walk behind models, to clean hard surfaces in mall common area, food courts and transit
  • Align and reset tables on food court and furniture in common areas
  • Deep cleaning of restrooms using commercial sanitation equipment, clean sinks, toilets, stalls, mirrors, walls, floors, wipes down all dispensers such as toilet paper roll holder, feminine hygiene product dispensers and all hardware around toilets, and stocking of supplies.
  • General cleaning of mall common area, park, and transit, such as removing trash, sweeping, mopping, high dusting, cleaning vents, elevators, glass, and carpet.
  • Ensure safe practices while cleaning up broken glass, sharps, and biohazards.
  • Safety use of chemicals used in commercial cleaning and housekeeping
  • Sweep or vacuum entrance vestibules and skyways.
  • Inspect custodial equipment prior to use and may perform basic preventative maintenance
  • May assist with special projects like striping, waxing and buffering hard floors, as needed
  • Complete cleaning and equipment maintenance logs; turn into to supervisor daily.
  • May use radio to communicate and respond to other team members and leaders
  • Represent MOA with a professional and clean image, providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain an understanding of MOA geography to assist guests and answer questions daily.
  • Work a flexible schedule including work nights, weekends and holidays.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of 3 months previous housekeeping experience, preferred.
  • Previous working knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial and commercial cleaning equipment, preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe use and disposal of chemicals, liquids and other hazardous components.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions.
  • Good physical condition; ability to perform physical tasks such as extended walking, standing, lifting, and physical components of operating auto scrubber, sweeping, mopping and other custodial duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member needs to possess a level of hearing that will allow them to be aware of their surroundings, hear machines, alarms and other sounds. Must have the ability to speak and listen to co-workers and leaders in order to understand their needs, respond, react and communicate. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Vision can be supplemented with corrective lenses, with the ability to wear eye protection and other required PPE to perform job duties. Team member will need the use of both hands to operate auto scrubbers, restroom sanitation equipment, sweep, mop, etc.
