Job description

Implant Dental Assistant / EFDA
Location: Cincinnati (Anderson Township), OH 45255 | Full-Time
Rogers Family Dentistry is looking for a skilled, motivated Implant Dental Assistant / EFDA to provide dedicated chairside support for our growing implant caseload. If you have hands-on implant experience, hold your Ohio EFDA certification, and take pride in helping patients reclaim their smiles, you will be a great fit for this role.
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Serve as the chairside assistant for implant surgeries and procedures
  • Perform expanded function duties as permitted under Ohio state law and your EFDA licensure, including placement and finishing of restorations and other procedures
  • Assist with surgical preparation and implant placement, including site preparation, fixture placement, and suture management
  • Fabricate and seat implant temporaries and assist with implant-retained prosthetics and restorations
  • Take and process dental radiographs and intraoral images as needed, in compliance with Ohio state regulations
  • Maintain sterile field and manage surgical instrumentation with strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
  • Prepare implant components, surgical kits, and restorative materials for each case
  • Coordinate with the dental team to optimize patient flow and ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience
Patient Care amp; Clinical Support
  • Ensure patient comfort and provide calm, compassionate support at every stage of treatment
  • Provide patient education and post-operative care instructions tailored to implant and surgical patients
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document all procedures in full compliance with HIPAA
  • Track and manage implant inventory, components, and lab cases from submission through delivery
  • Provide chairside assistance across the full scope of practice services as needed: restorative, cosmetic, oral surgery, periodontal treatment, sedation dentistry, laser dentistry, clear aligner treatment, wisdom tooth extractions, TMJ/TMD treatment, Botox, and emergency dentistry
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Current EFDA license or certification in the state of Ohio required
  • Proven hands-on implant assisting experience required, experience working chairside through implant placement and restoration cases
  • Ohio Dental Assistant certification required, including completion of an Ohio-approved radiation safety and radiography course
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Strong knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization techniques
  • Familiarity with implant systems, surgical kits, implant components, and prosthetic workflows
  • Calm, confident, and detail-oriented presence in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with patients navigating complex or multi-stage treatment plans
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software and digital radiography
  • Dependable and self-managing
  • Positive, collaborative team player
