General Information: The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach is seeking Pool Deckhands.We offer fantastic benefits and rewards, including lunch daily while at work. Our full-time team thirty (30+ hours) is eligible for medical, dental, vision, life, disability and accident insurance the first month following sixty (60) days of employment. Full-time employees are also eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan after completing one year of service.


General Job Description: Pool deckhands are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized pool area, assisting members and their guests and ensuring all pool regulations are followed. The work environment is an outdoor pool setting and requires weekend and holiday work. This position reports to the Beach Club Manager at our beautiful oceanfront facility.


General Skills and Qualifications Needed Include:

  • Valid Lifeguard and First Aid Certification is preferrable


Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor swimming pool area to ensure safety for all members and their guests
  • Perform regular checks of water quality and temperature
  • Perform and maintain an inventory of supplies needed to maintain the pool, decks and common areas
  • Clean the pool area including the deck, furniture and associated facilities
  • Set up and break down pool equipment and furniture
  • Conduct routine inspections of the pool equipment and facilities
  • Ensure pool maintains local codes/policies for operation
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
