Job description

Jackson and Coker is seeking a 100% Interventional Radiologist for locums coverage in California, with urgent needs for holiday periods and ongoing opportunities from September to December. This role involves a mix of daytime procedures, weeknight call, and 24-hour weekend call, covering two hospitals. The position offers expedited credentialing and the chance to work alongside four other IR providers.

Practice Info

  • Work alongside 4 other IR providers
  • EMR: Epic
  • Level II Trauma coverage

Responsibilities

  • Perform bread-and-butter IR procedures, approximately 5–8 procedures/day
  • Handle lower-extremity CTA, potentially 1/day at most
  • Cover emergent IR/bleeding cases, approximately 1–2 per month
  • Manage weekend volume ranging from approximately 2–7 cases total, with a mix of phone consults and on-site procedures

Shift & Schedule

  • Starting as soon as credentialed and ongoing
  • Urgent Holiday Coverage: November 23–30, December 21–28, December 28–January 4
  • Holiday coverage includes: Monday–Friday daytime coverage + weeknight call + 24-hour weekend call
  • Monday–Friday daytime schedule: 8 AM–6 PM at one hospital
  • Weeknight/weekend call covers two hospitals
  • Weekend call: Friday 6 PM–Monday 8 AM
  • Weeknight callbacks are rare, approximately 1–2 per month
  • Additional September–December Ongoing Coverage Needs: Weekdays: 1–2 weekday shifts per week
  • Weeknight Call: 1–2 nights per week
  • Weekend Call: Approximately 1 full weekend per month, Friday evening–Monday morning
  • Scheduling Flexibility: Client can coordinate weekday coverage and weeknight/weekend call around provider availability and may be able to combine coverage into consolidated stretches
