Their work often involves staying updated on the latest regulations, technologies, and best practices in decarbonization, and helping clients align with national or international climate targets. They may also assist in stakeholder engagement and reporting on progress toward emissions reductions.

  • Assess physical and transition climate risks by combining climate datasets, asset-level exposure and vulnerability information, scenario analysis, geospatial analysis, financial and operational impact assessment, insurance considerations such as insured value, uninsured exposure, insurability, and potential coverage changes, policy and regulatory developments, market shifts, technology change, carbon pricing, value-chain risks, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop practical climate transition and resilience programs, including governance structures and processes, operating models, KPIs, implementation roadmaps, capital and operational measures, cost-benefit analyses, data management approaches, and change management plans.
  • Support climate disclosure and reporting by translating TCFD, CSRD, IFRS Sustainability Standards, SASB, CDP, assurance readiness, regulatory gap assessment, metrics, targets, and disclosure narrative requirements into actionable client deliverables.
  • Translate climate science, risk analytics, financial and insurance-related implications, policy developments, enterprise risk management considerations, and implementation options into executive-ready presentations, decision-useful insights, and practical recommendations.
  • Facilitate client executive briefings, workshops, interviews, and working sessions with confidence, clarity, and strong business judgment.
  • Manage project teams and consultants by setting clear expectations, reviewing work products, coaching team members, and supporting a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Contribute to business development and solution innovation, including market research, solution design, proposal development, thought leadership, and the growth of Guidehouseโ€™s climate risk and resilience services.
  • Apply digital tools, automation / coding, data analytics, and AI-enabled approaches to improve climate risk assessment, program implementation, reporting, and client decision-making.

  • This experience may include handsโ€‘on programming, process management, and/or project management.
  • Professional or technical background in climate risk, resilience, mitigation, adaptation planning, climate policy, enterprise risk management, and/or corporate sustainability.
  • Strong analytical, problemโ€‘solving, research, written communication, verbal communication, relationshipโ€‘building, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project teams, coordinate with internal teams and external vendors or contractors, deliver clientโ€‘ready work products with limited supervision, and collaborate with leadership to create, refine, and scale effective offerings.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
