Job Summary

The Silver Brazer is responsible for joining metal components using silver brazing techniques according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. The role requires precision, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to produce high-quality brazed assemblies for industrial or commercial products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform silver brazing operations on various metal components, including copper, brass, stainless steel, and other alloys.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, deburring, and applying appropriate brazing flux.
  • Set up and operate oxy-acetylene, air-acetylene, induction, or other brazing equipment.
  • Select appropriate silver brazing alloys and filler materials based on product specifications.
  • Assemble fixtures and position components accurately prior to brazing.
  • Inspect brazed joints for proper penetration, alignment, strength, and appearance.
  • Perform leak testing, pressure testing, or visual inspections as required.
  • Maintain production records, quality documentation, and traceability records.
  • Follow production schedules to meet daily output and customer delivery requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of brazing equipment.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, material defects, or quality concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce scrap.

  • Knowledge of brazing temperatures, filler metals, and flux application.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
