Location
Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.
Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.
Job Summary
This person will assist the Director of Debate with coaching students in preparation for intercollegiate competition, including organizing and supervising research, strategy sessions, and practice debates. Travel with the team to competition, acting as coach and chaperone, as well as facilitating travel arrangements and serving as transportation when necessary and other duties needed for UWG Debate.
Responsibilities
1.
Travel and coaching debate team for online competitive events and in-person tournaments Coordinate with Director to select competitions, teams participating in competitions, and judge preferences before competition deadlines Transportation of students to and from in-person competitions Judging and coaching responsibilities at online and in-person competitions Evaluation and reporting of team performance to Director

Coaching and instruction on campus Assist in running weekly team meetings with Director Weekly coaching with individual team members Argument research and coaching Coordinating practice events and supervising practice debates

Assisting in Campus Activities Coordinate with the Director to plan and coordinate on-campus events including but not limited to: Public debate events Prison debate program Recruitment and tabling events Other departmental functions involving debate

Other departmental functions involving debate 10% - Recruitment and Retention Activities Coordinate with the Director to establish and maintain recruiting pipelines with local and regional High School forensics programs Assist Director with recruiting events off campus

Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience. Paid on a bi-weekly basis.
