Dealership Jobs information

What's the hardest job at a dealership?

The hardest job at a dealership is often considered to be the service technician or mechanic, as it requires technical skill, physical labor, and the ability to diagnose complex vehicle issues under time pressure. These roles often involve working in noisy, greasy environments and may require certifications like ASE to perform effectively. The demanding schedule and need for precision make it a challenging position within the dealership staff.

How much does a car salesman make on a $10,000 car?

A car salesperson typically earns a commission based on the profit or a percentage of the sale price. For a $10,000 car, commissions often range from 20% to 30%, resulting in earnings of approximately $2,000 to $3,000 per sale, depending on dealership policies and the salesperson's commission structure.

What is the highest paying job in a dealership?

The highest paying job in a dealership is typically the general manager or dealership principal, who oversees operations and can earn six-figure salaries plus bonuses. Other high-paying roles include finance directors and service managers, especially in large dealerships, often requiring extensive experience and leadership skills.

What are the different roles in a dealership?

Dealerships typically have various roles including sales associates, service technicians, parts specialists, finance managers, and administrative staff. Sales roles involve customer interaction and vehicle demonstrations, while service technicians perform vehicle repairs and maintenance. Each role requires specific skills, certifications, and knowledge of automotive systems and sales processes.
