Job description

We are a growing multi-franchise automobile dealership group seeking an experienced Controller to join our accounting operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for the integrity of our financial reporting across multiple OEM brands.


Location: 2225 Eagle St N, Cambridge ON


Compensation: $135,000-$165,000 per year


Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all accounting functions for the dealership accounting, including general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
    • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely financial statements tailored to various OEM requirements.
    • Ensure full compliance with automotive industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage and lead the accounting team, providing mentorship, training, and performance oversight.
    • Maintain strong internal controls and support audit readiness.
    • Work closely with group executive management and ownership on financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.


    Qualifications & Experience:

    • CPA designation preferred.
    • Accounting experience in the automotive dealership industry is considered an asset.
    • Previous experience as a Dealership Controller is strongly preferred.
    • In-depth knowledge of automotive accounting principles, OEM reporting, and compliance.
    • Hands-on experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as PBS, Reynolds and Reynolds, CDK, or similar platforms.
    • Strong understanding of dealership operations including payroll, AP/AR, inventory, and fixed operations accounting.
    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop an accounting team.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • High attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
