What is a dealer swap driver?

Dealer Swap Drivers are professionals employed by car dealerships to transport vehicles between different dealership locations. Their primary responsibility is to facilitate 'dealer swaps,' where one dealership exchanges a vehicle with another to meet specific customer or inventory needs. These drivers ensure vehicles are safely and efficiently delivered, often driving long distances and handling necessary paperwork. Attention to detail, a clean driving record, and professionalism are essential qualities for this role.

To thrive as a Dealer Swap Driver, you need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a basic understanding of vehicle handling and safety protocols. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and dealership inventory management tools is typically required. Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills help ensure smooth coordination between dealerships and professional interactions. These abilities are essential for safe, efficient, and reliable vehicle transfers that support dealership operations.
