Job Title: Community Services Coordinator- Office of Deaf Services- Atlanta

Job Summary:
Responsible for state-wide coordination of all services provided to Deaf Class Members by DBHDD directly or through its provider network. The preferred qualification for the CSC position shall be a master's degree in a human services field such as psychology, counseling, education or social work, with at least two (2) years of experience in deaf services delivery. The CSC shall be ASL-Fluent and have a working knowledge of deaf culture and, preferably, systems theory. Ideally, the CSC shall hold a clinical license and be trained to assist with clinical supervision.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
Assists the State Director of Deaf Services in planning and implementing programs for DBHDD consumers who are deaf, deaf blind or hard of hearing to assure continuity of care and quality of treatment through providers who are fluent in American Sign Language.
Identifies program enhancement needs, sets goals and develops programs focused upon meeting the identified needs across the state.
Coordinates DBHDD services to consumers with a hearing loss who communicate in sign language with other local, state and national agencies, public and private to ensure collaboration and continuity of care.
Coordinate with regional offices to ensure that access and culturally appropriate services are provided by contracted providers of DBHDD; Advocates for the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers with the Director of Deaf Services and with other local, state and national agencies. Coordinates the Department's response to the disaster mental health needs of individuals who are deaf, deaf-blind and hard of hearing.
Works with the State Director of Deaf Services in initiating and monitoring provider contracts, and provides oversight of provider services, providing input to the recruiting, hiring, supervising and evaluating of staff by providers.
Acts as the focal point of information for individuals and family members seeking DBHDD services for individuals who are deaf, deaf-blind or hard of hearing.
Provides in-service training and individual case consultation on the specific needs of individual consumers as requested.
Monitors program effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in treatment, outpatient and community residential settings.
Provides input into program or staffing enhancements as may be requested by contract providers or state entities.
This position will function with considerable independence as a key decision maker, but in close collaboration and consultation with the Director of Deaf Services.
Provides supervision to the Communication Assessment Team Co-chair the Deaf Services Advisory Council Other duties as assigned.
Note: A moderate amount of in-state and out-of-state travel will be required.
This position requires the selected applicant to be fluent in American Sign Language. A Sign Language Proficiency Interview Score of Advanced is required, Superior is preferred.
