Job description

We are in search of a Business Office Manager for a new home health agency. They are excited to bring vital nursing care and therapies to the individuals and families that need it most, so if you are looking to make a difference using your skills and abilities APPLY TODAY!!

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process Payroll for staff
  • Accounts Payable (process vendor invoices for payment)
  • Accounts Receivable (billing, follow-up, collections)
  • Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or updates files, records, and/or other documents
  • Submit reports and prepare presentations as needed
  • Billing all insurances within timely filing guidelines, as well as follow-up on all claim in S/T status and those rejections by Medicare / Medicaid to ensure proper payment.
  • Able to obtain preauthorization from HMO and commercial insurance. Verify patients Medicare and other insurance home health illegibility and responsibility.
  • Able to bill secondary insurances
  • Manages billing reports to assure that all billing is captured accurately and timely.
  • Transfers OASIS data to the State timely and accurately.
  • Keeps Administrator apprised of problems/concerns/delays within billing department.
  • Assures Claims Integrity for the agency.
  • Compile and aggregate large amounts of home care visit data in a timely manner
  • Check claim statuses and verify payments for visits in online portals
  • Compare billed visits with paid visits and find discrepancies in payments
  • Investigate and rebill for unpaid visits
  • Communicate with insurance company representatives by phone/email to resolve billing issues
  • Obtains proper documentation for appeal process and submission
  • Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations at all times
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Excellent organization
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Database and excel spreadsheet management
  • Strong quantitative (math) and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in billing or billing management of a home health care company billing Medicare Part A and working with DDE.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Thorough and working knowledge of Medicare Home Health billing/CMS regulations and requirements
  • Demonstrates an understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and DRG coding regulations and guidelines.
  • Understands basic medical terminology.
  • Able to use electronic or paper billing.
