Description
he Building Engineer supports the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial office building systems under the direction of the Chief Engineer. This role is responsible for maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with all safety standards, engineering procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Building Engineer also supports preventive maintenance programs, energy conservation initiatives, work order management, and tenant service requests to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable building operations.
This position is ideal for experienced building engineers, facilities maintenance technicians, commercial HVAC technicians, industrial maintenance technicians, or military technical professionals with strong mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining commercial building systems.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Strong mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience maintaining commercial building HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building equipment.

  • Replace lighting fixtures, ballasts, relays, filters, and other building components.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain air handling equipment, reheat coils, heat exchangers, and related HVAC equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on AHUs, RTUs, Heat Pumps, VAVs, FCUs, TFUs, and air intake systems.
  • Utilize BAS/DDC systems to monitor schedules and maximize energy efficiency.
  • Maintain work orders, equipment history, and maintenance records within Building Engines.
  • Coordinate procurement of maintenance parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and facility safety programs.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and site-specific codes and regulations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to tenants, vendors, and building staff.
