JOB SUMMARY
The ASU I&C Reliability Trainer is responsible fordeveloping, executing, and managing comprehensive training programs forInstrumentation & Controls (I&C) and electrical disciplines withinNippon Sanso Matheson's Bulk Operations organization. This role ensures thatelectrical technicians, I&C specialists, and plant performance techniciansreceive the technical development, progression, and competency validationrequired to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Air SeparationUnits (ASUs) and related systems.
The trainer also serves as the subject matter expert forelectrical and controls condition monitoring programs, supporting theorganization's reliability strategy through technical guidance, programoversight, and continuous improvement.
EssentialFunctions
Training Program Development & Delivery
Design, develop, and maintain structured I&C and electrical training curricula aligned with NSM standards, OEM requirements, and industry best practices.
Deliver classroom, hands on, and field based training to technicians, specialists, and reliability personnel.
Create training materials, assessments, certification pathways, and competency evaluations.
Ensure training content remains current with evolving technologies, equipment upgrades, and regulatory requirements.
Progression Program Management
Manage and maintain progression schedules for electrical technicians and I&C specialists.
Track individual development plans, training milestones, and competency achievements.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to support employee growth.
Collaborate with supervisors and managers to ensure alignment between progression expectations and operational needs.
Reliability & Condition Monitoring Expertise
Serve as the technical authority for electrical and controls condition monitoring programs, including but not limited to:
Program Administration & Compliance
Maintain accurate training records, documentation, and certification files.
Ensure training programs comply with internal policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Coordinate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams to schedule training and ensure resource availability.
Evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvement measures.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level Education Details Req/Pref
Associate's Degree InstrumentationTech, Electrical Tech, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or ElectronicsEngineering Tech is Required
Bachelor's Degree ElectricalEngineering, Electrical Engineering Technology is Preferred
Work Experience
7+ years of Hands on experience in industrialinstrumentation, controls, or electrical maintenance within heavy industrialenvironments such as: ASU, Petrochemical, Refining, Power Generation isRequired
7+ years of Demonstrated experience with DCS/PLC Systems isRequired
5+ years of Experience developing or delivering technicaltraining is Required
5+ years of Experience performing or supporting conditionmonitoring programs is Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of ASU operations, industrial instrumentation, control systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
Proficiency with PLCs, DCS platforms, instrumentation calibration, loop tuning, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, ISA, and relevant electrical/instrumentation standards.
Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and reliability methodologies (RCM, FMEA, CBM).

Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for electrical and controls systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Whileperforming duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk,sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, bend andtwist, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, equipment,tools or controls.
Physical Demands: Occasionallylift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Physical Demands: Specificvision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depthperceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Condition Thisrole will be performed in office environments as well as in industrial fieldenvironments. While performing duties of this job it would occasionally berequired to:
• Be exposedto moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (e.g. operating plant).
• Be exposedto outside weather conditions (e.g. cold box valves, filling trailers).
• Be exposedto high, precarious places (e.g. cold box, repair work)
• Be exposedto high noise levels (e.g. Plant rounds, maintenance)
Working Condition Mayalso be required to work from a home location, which must be conducive toperforming the role and duties, including virtual/video meetings.
Working Condition Mustsign NDA, have a clean driving record and pass background check and drug test.
Travel Requirements Estimated 25% with an Ability totravel and required to provide weekend and evening support as needed.
Pay Range: $120,000 to $140,000 a year
