Job Description DCS Foxboro Engineer (I/A Series) - Contract Location: Freeport, TX (Onsite) Duration: Open-ended Contract Industry: Industrial / Process Manufacturing / Chemicals / Oil & Gas Overview A leading Systems Integrator is seeking an experienced DCS Foxboro Engineer to support a major facility upgrade in the Freeport area. This role is ideal for a hands-on controls professional with deep expertise in Foxboro I/A Series DCS environments and a strong background working in live process operations. You will play a critical role in configuring, programming, and integrating control systems while collaborating closely with operations, process engineering, and maintenance teams.

The goal is to deliver stable, high-performing control strategies that improve plant efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability. Key Responsibilities Configure, program, and integrate Foxboro I/A Series DCS systems Design and implement control strategies for process optimization and stability Support system upgrades, migrations, and expansions within an active plant environment Develop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms, and historian configurations Perform system testing, loop checks, and commissioning activities Troubleshoot and resolve DCS-related issues in real-time operations Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance) to improve system performance Ensure all solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practices Provide documentation for system changes, configurations, and procedures Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience with Foxboro I/A Series DCS (configuration and integration) Proven experience working in operating process facilities (chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, or similar) Strong understanding of process control principles and instrumentation Hands-on experience with: Control logic development (function blocks, sequencing, etc.) HMI/graphics configuration Alarm management and system tuning Experience supporting live plant operations and commissioning activities Ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues under pressure Preferred Qualifications Experience with system upgrades or modernization projects Knowledge of SCADA systems, PLCs, or hybrid control environments Familiarity with industry standards (ISA, IEC) Exposure to networking and industrial cybersecurity concepts Strong documentation and communication skills What You'll Bring A practical, hands-on engineering mindset Ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant environment Strong collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Focus on delivering reliable, efficient, and maintainable control solutions Why This Role Long-term, open-ended contract with a stable project pipeline Opportunity to work on a major facility upgrade High-impact role directly influencing plant performance and reliability Work alongside experienced engineering and operations teams.
