Job Summary:

The Field Service Engineer plays a vital role at ECI, responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting the lifecycle of our customers systems. The position includes diagnosing hardware and software issues, providing support for Dell servers and workstations, and troubleshooting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) at multiple levels. The position also involves performing preventative maintenance, participating in a rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule, and maintaining accurate technical documentation and procedures. The position is a direct interface with our customers and is a core function in our relationship with them.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform system network design, installation, commissioning and maintenance activities in a Microsoft OS environment
  • Perform general computer maintenance, diagnostics and data backups of workstations
  • Provide Dell server and workstation software/hardware support
  • Troubleshoot Distributed Control Systems (DCS) at the network, workstation, controller and I/O level to resolve customer problems in an efficient manner and keep their systems running optimally
  • Participate in a weeklong on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support to our contract customers each month.
  • Perform Distributed Control systems preventative maintenance, including voltage measurements, cleaning, patching, and various diagnostic checks
  • Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and technical guides to keep up with existing technologies

Requirements

Ideal Candidate:

  • Will possess knowledge in MS Windows, Dell computers, and basic understanding of Windows Active directory
  • Will have strong computer hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers
  • Must have the ability to do regional travel (PA,OH,WV), sometimes overnight to customer sites
  • Ability to support on-call duty on a rotating basis
  • Will be able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, overhead reaching, climbing, stooping, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds; work in varying temperatures; and drive for extended periods or distances
  • Will possess an Associate degree in with 2 or more years of relevant experience, BS in Engineering preferred
  • Prior experience working with DeltaV DCS preferred
  • Prior experience working with AMS Device Manager preferred
  • Experience with DCS or Programmable Logic Controllers hardware troubleshooting preferred
  • Cybersecurity Experience or relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ preferred
  • Networking Experience or relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+ preferred
