With multiple offices, more than 300 employees, and 7 divisions – Asphalt and Concrete, Waterproofing and Specialty Coatings, Roofing, Snow Removal and Parking Lot Sweeping, Landscaping, and Construction, DCPS provides specialized, integrated service-solutions to commercial property owners and managers.

Position Summary

The Senior Construction Estimator leads complex estimating efforts and supports strategic preconstruction activities for commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for producing high-quality estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and partnering with leadership to drive business development and project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for complex commercial construction projects including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Review architectural plans, specifications, and project documentation to fully define scope and risk
  • Conduct site visits and preconstruction assessments to inform estimating strategy
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, supporting bid development and proposal presentations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to winning new work
  • Utilize advanced estimating tools and methodologies for cost modeling, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Analyze historical cost data and market trends to improve estimate accuracyLead contract review and support negotiations to align project scope and financial expectations
  • Partner closely with project management and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoff
  • Mentor and support development of junior estimators and contribute to process improvements
  • Stay current on industry trends, materials, and construction technologies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of construction estimating experience
  • Strong expertise in commercial construction methods, materials, and project delivery
  • Advanced proficiency in estimating tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, CompanyCam, or similar
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities
Compensation

$95,000 – $115,000 annually

Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions

This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime.
