Work as part of a team having responsibility for moving freight, stock, or other materials. Distribution Operators support the productivity of distribution operations by performing all tasks conducted by their team in the shipping and receiving process and rotating through different tasks during their shift as needed. - Read and attach identifying tags to containers, material, or product packaging, or mark them with identifying information
- Communicate with Distribution Administration to ensure timely and complete delivery of product, materials, and equipment
- Inspect all incoming trailers and containers and document any damage to trailers or containers, or product, material, or equipment being transported
- Use computer inventory system to track and keep accurate inventory records
- Maintain a safe and accident free environment by adhering to safety standards and identifying safety issues and reporting them to his/her supervisor or the safety manager
- Shovel, sweep, wipe down, or otherwise clean work areas, equipment, tools, and machinery
