Helios Defense Solutions, LLC (HELIOS) is seeking experienced NALCOMIS Systems Administrator / Database Administrator professionals to support Naval Air Force Reserve aviation logistics information systems.
The position will provide technical administration, maintenance, cybersecurity, troubleshooting, database support, user support, and operational sustainment for the Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) Virtual Environment (VE) and Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS), including Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) and Optimized Intermediate Maintenance Activity (OIMA) environments.
The selected candidate will support the operation and sustainment of mission-critical Navy aviation maintenance information systems. Responsibilities are expected to include:
  • Administer and maintain NALCOMIS OOMA/OIMA and NTCSS Virtual Environment systems.
  • Perform NALCOMIS Systems Administrator and Database Administrator functions.
  • Administer NTCSS servers, hosted virtual machines, operating systems, applications, user accounts, and system configurations.
  • Maintain NALCOMIS databases, database integrity, interfaces, and associated aviation-maintenance information.
  • Perform and verify system and database backups, restoration, recovery, and continuity procedures.
  • Support system startup, shutdown, maintenance, troubleshooting, and disaster-recovery activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve NALCOMIS, NTCSS, database, server, network, connectivity, and end-user issues.
  • Support geographically separated NALCOMIS users and systems through remote administration.
  • Apply software updates, security updates, patches, and approved baseline configurations.
  • Support cybersecurity activities including vulnerability identification, ACAS-related activities, IAVA remediation, and applicable DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Maintain system availability and respond to outages and emergent technical issues.
  • Provide technical assistance and on-the-job training to Government personnel and system users.
  • Maintain accurate system, maintenance, configuration, backup, and technical-support documentation.
  • Coordinate technical issues and corrective actions with Government personnel and other authorized support organizations.
  • Be able to lift 50lbs.

These duties reflect the emphasis on NTCSS VE management, NALCOMIS administration, backups/recovery, cybersecurity maintenance, ACAS/IAVA support, end-user support, and OOMA SA/DBA support.
Work Environment
The position is expected to perform primarily at NAS JRB Fort Worth, Texas while providing virtual/remote support to additional Navy Reserve locations. The operational environment requires a high system availability and responsive technical support when outages occur. Candidates should therefore be willing and able to support the work schedule and respond to emergent technical requirements as necessary.

Requirements
To be considered you mut have a minimum of:
10+ years of aviation maintenance administration experience, including substantial experience supporting Navy aviation maintenance environments.
  • Navy DoD 8140 qualification requirements for DCWF Work Role IT-451 System Administrator, Intermediate proficiency level.
  • Direct experience with NALCOMIS OOMA and/or OIMA configurations.
  • Demonstrated experience performing NALCOMIS Systems Administrator and/or Database Administrator functions.
  • Experience supporting Organizational-level and Intermediate-level Navy aviation maintenance environments.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting information systems, servers, databases, networks, and associated applications.
  • Knowledge of NTCSS and NTCSS Virtual Environment operations.
  • Experience with system/database backups, restoration, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and virtualized computing environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and support geographically separated users.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Government customers, technical personnel, and system users.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.

You must be able to satisfy the applicable DoD cybersecurity workforce qualification requirements for the position, including the required IAT Level II qualification.

Salary Range: $115,000-$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, certifications, clearance status, and contract requirements.
