PostgreSQL Database Administrator/Engineer (K10027)

De Federale Politie staat voor een ambitieuze digitale en organisatorische transformatie. Binnen het Digital Transformation Office (DTO) bouwen we mee aan modernere processen, sterkere operationele ondersteuning en meer datagedreven dienstverlening. Vanuit de pijlers IT, innovatie en intelligence/data werken we aan stabiele fundamenten, toekomstgerichte technologieën en betere ondersteuning van de diensten op het terrein. Wil jij mee impact maken in een omgeving waar digitalisering, legacy-modernisering en maatschappelijke relevantie samenkomen?

De opdracht bestaat erin een veilige, moderne en performante PostgreSQL-databaseomgeving te ontwerpen, beheren en optimaliseren binnen de Systems Division (DIST), met een sterke nadruk op beveiliging en betrouwbaarheid. De focus ligt op het beheren en optimaliseren van PostgreSQL-databases (back-up/herstel, monitoring, performance-tuning), het ontwerpen van databasestructuren en het ontwikkelen van data-synchronisatiemechanismen.

De kandidaat speelt ook een actieve rol in de backend-ontwikkeling van toepassingen in Python, integreert deze met PostgreSQL-databases en zet CI/CD-pijplijnen op in GitLab. Optioneel wordt kennis van de Elastic Stack ingezet ter ondersteuning van monitoring- en loggingactiviteiten.

Missie

Voor deze opdracht zoeken we een ervaren technisch profiel met minstens 5 jaar relevante ervaring in databasebeheer, specifiek in PostgreSQL. De persoon moet in staat zijn om PostgreSQL-databases te beheren en optimaliseren, inclusief back-up- en herstelprocedures, monitoring en performance-tuning, en databasestructuren te ontwerpen.

De opdracht vereist ervaring met Python backend-programmering, inclusief het ontwikkelen van REST API’s, en de integratie van deze Python backend-programma’s met PostgreSQL-databases. De kandidaat zet daarnaast CI/CD-pijplijnen op en beheert deze in GitLab om ontwikkelprocessen te automatiseren.

De kandidaat ondersteunt ontwikkelprojecten door databaseoplossingen op maat te ontwerpen (bij voorkeur met ervaring in microservicesarchitecturen) en biedt, indien nodig, ondersteuning bij de implementatie en configuratie van andere DBMS-systemen. Optioneel wordt kennis van de Elastic Stack ingezet ter ondersteuning van monitoring- en loggingactiviteiten.
