Job description

The Housekeeper will have the opportunity to provide the most welcoming and comfortable room experience for every guest during their stay through the cleaning, sanitizing and scheduled servicing of all assigned guestrooms and commercial public areas.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Follows all safety protocols, including assignment of safety beacons, proper cart placement, awareness of surroundings, and maintaining safe keeping of key cards
  • Be aware of suspicious activities and report any concerns, no matter how small, to the General Manager.
  • Be accountable for any found property or guest items left in rooms. Turn in any property immediately to lost and found per the hotel policy.
  • Maintains and organizes cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.
  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout the property as assigned.
  • Cleans and disinfects bathrooms, and when applicable kitchen and dining areas.
  • Uses proper chemicals according to OSHA Safety and Health Management System guidelines.
  • Wipes and dusts all surfaces, cleans mirrors, vacuums, and cleans floors, rugs, furniture and window treatments, according to the property procedures.
  • Washes dishes, utensils, glasses, and any other kitchen equipment when a kitchen is present, all according to the property procedures.
  • Removes and replaces all linen, terry, and blankets on assigned days.
  • Neatly remakes all beds with appropriate linens and blankets, and restocks bathrooms with terry and amenities according to brand standards.
  • Empties and sanitizes all trash containers, replacing appropriate liners according to brand standards.
  • Reviews room for any issues or needed repairs and reports appropriately according to the procedure adopted by the hotel.
  • Cleans and organizes laundry room and storage closets.
  • Secures all storage closets, laundry doors, and laundry chutes at all times.
  • Handles guest requests.
  • Reports room discrepancies.
  • Loads washers and dryers, folds sheets and towels in the laundry room as needed.
  • Wears appropriate brand required uniform and name tag during all scheduled shifts.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to perform basic communication skills
Education and Experience:
• Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking, and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at a time.
