A Day Top Dog typically refers to a leadership position in a therapeutic community, such as Daytop Village, which is known for its substance abuse treatment programs. The 'Top Dog' is usually a senior resident or peer who provides guidance, support, and sets an example for others in the program. This role involves helping maintain discipline, promoting community values, and serving as a liaison between staff and residents. Being a Day Top Dog is seen as both an honor and a responsibility, as it helps individuals develop leadership skills and accountability during their recovery journey.

How to Apply: - What to Expect

First apply through Jazz Hr and upload your resume.  At Top Dog SF, we hire intentionally. Every candidate is asked to complete a short behavioral assessment called the Aptive Index as part of our application process.

Why do we use it?
The Aptive Index helps us understand how you're naturally wired — how you make decisions, handle routine, respond under pressure, and work with a team. There are no right or wrong answers. We use it to make sure this role is genuinely a great fit for you, not just for us. Our best team members — including walkers who have grown into trainer roles — have taken this assessment, and it helps us set everyone up for success from day one.

It takes about 10 minutes and is completely confidential.

Complete your Aptive Index assessment here: https://assessment.aptiveindex.com/s/bXQbb9oKX6mE
