Job Description Day Porter

Beta is a Title I Schoolwide campus. I understand that part or all of this job could be funded with federal funds.

Must be flexible and must have previous experience in a janitorial role

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Empties trash in all areas of the Campus as needed.
  • Cleans the School, Library, and Computer Classroom at the end of each day.
  • Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
  • Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, such as:
    • Restroom Maintenance
    • Cleaning up spills/accidents in the classroom or Campus area
    • Litter Removal as needed from Campus areas
    • Box breakdown and disposal
    • Oversized debris disposal
    • Occasional evening janitorial work may be required
    • Stocking/refill of paper products and soaps
    • Reporting of inventory needs to supervisor
    • Reporting maintenance needs to supervisor
    • Assisting with security monitoring around the campus and reporting concerns

Required education/experience:

  • Minimum janitorial experience: 1 year
  • High school diploma or relevant qualification required
  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Must be reliable and professional
  • Familiarity with common cleaning supplies and hand tools
  • Physical stamina
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Friendly demeanor
  • Prepared to execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner
