Manufacturing Supervisor - Day Shift

JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to support team members in order to meet daily safety, quality and production requirements.  The following factors serve as expectations, and will be used to measure the relative performance for individuals in the Manufacturing Supervisor role:
  • Work with Team members and other leaders to monitor standards work and process flow within the department or work area to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Responsible to execute goals and objectives for the plant

Pay Range: $65,000-$80,000

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALITY
  • Responsible to help to improve a process that create a quality product.
  • Responsible to ensure standardized work is in place for all processes.
  • Ensure adherence to quality polices and processes. 
  • Build own technical knowledge in support of key processes.
  • Oversee training including JI training and cross training plans.

PRODUCTIVITY
  • Ensure production goals and ship schedules are met
  • Ensure targets laid out in the Daily P&L are accomplished
  • Manage staffing levels and requirements.
  • Audit and observe Team Leader work.
  • Ensure team members remain productive
  • Follow Leader Standard Work.
  • Create an environment which supports idea generation.

OTHER
  • Lead the activities of team members of production of quality parts in accordance with work instructions and company policy to ensure a quality product delivered on time.
  • Coach & mentor standardized work, monitor & document defects and problem solve within span of control.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety standards as required by law and company policy.
  • Coaches and provides technical expertise to resolve issues and creates and ensures corrective action(s) are implemented.
  • Ensure the appropriate level of accountability for goals and objectives at the team member levels.
  • Monitors and take appropriate timely improvement action to meet production quality and quantity.
 
SAFETY
  • Responsible for the completion of Accident Investigation forms in areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for implementation of safety countermeasures and doing root cause analysis to determine appropriate safety changes that are needed to improve plant safety.
  • Responsible to adhere to all site safety policies and procedures
  • Coach and model safe behaviors, respect for environment and 6S behaviors.
  • Champion safety practices at the site.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Experience- Manufacturing experience required with 4-5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, Oracle reports and Internal Method Sheets (IMS). Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Excellent team skills and ability to interact with other employees, engineers and leadership. Ability to report progress and work with engineers to solve issues. 
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • REASONING ABILITY - Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Manufacturing software
