Job description

Position: 
 Standby Driver / Bus Wash 
Hours:
 8 hours per day
 5 days per week
12 month 
Salary:
Starting at  $25.54 per hour + $2.19 Standby/ Buswash Stipend
Requirements:
 Ability to obtain CDL Class B driver's license with passenger and school bus endorsements
with current school bus physical. (Bloomington Public Schools will assist)
Job Description:















  • Ability to drive any route, anytime, in any bus as directed by Dispatch
  • Able to read maps and or follow driving directions
  • Follow route copies precisely
  • Report on time for all assigned duties
  • Ride with new drivers to teach them the route(s)
  • Deliver outstanding service to:
    • Students
    • Parents
    • School staff
    • Office staff and mechanics
    • Fellow driver's and assistants
    • Be a positive role model and resource to fellow driver's and assistants
    • Show courteous behavior to driving public.
  • Must exhibit the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must ensure that all rules, laws, and policies set by Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Bloomington School District are strictly adhered to
  • Assist mechanics during inclement weather (moving buses)
  • Pre-trip buses daily as directed by Dispatch
  • Make sure buses are plugged in during cold weather
  • Generate daily schedules for the thorough cleaning of all fleet vehicles including vans, school buses and support vehicles
  • Run buses through the bus wash
  • Check with dispatch on special cleaning needs for route or charter buses
  • Perform bus seat repair and replacement
  • Summer cleaning of floors, windows, and filters
  • Order cleaning supplies through the parts department and maintain proper inventory of supplies
  • Perform routine maintenance on wash rack equipment, perform minor repairs when needed, or arrange for service as needed
  • Provide training to new wash rack workers
  • Maintain records of each vehicle washing and report on the invoices as needed for the maintenance tracking
  • Perform various shop duties as assigned by the shop foreman. Duties may include shop and yard clean-ups, power cord maintenance, winter front installation and removal, various cold weather procedures as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:
 Previous working with children a plus
Hours:
 8 hrs. per day/ split shift, 5 days per week, 12 months a year
