Position Information

Position Title Business Intelligence Analyst Position Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a vital member of the Institutional Effectiveness team, combining strategic project management of academic program review with data analysis and dashboard development support. This dual-function role requires exceptional organizational skills and technical experience to support evidence-based decision making while ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics within Institutional Effectiveness, this position ensures seamless execution of review activities for multiple and concurrent programs and supports institutional effectiveness and business intelligence with data analytics and reporting.

Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Assists in data collection (quantitative and qualitative), analysis and development of reports to support campus-wide data-informed decision
  • Maintains datasets for institutional effectiveness analysis and reporting
  • Collaborates with departments to gather and validate data for program review processes
  • Creates informative and engaging data visualizations using institutional templates and original designs
  • Serves on data support committees as needed

Strategic Planning Support
  • Provides progress tracking for strategic planning using strategic planning assessment tools
  • Ensures timely coordination between the president's office and the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, managing quick turnaround changes and providing ongoing support to the Vice President

Program Review Coordination
  • Provides comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient and effective academic program evaluations that meet institutional and accreditation standards
  • Serves as primary liaison between departments and external review committees,
  • Maintains detailed documentation of review processes and outcomes to drive continuous improvement

Scheduling and Logistics
  • Manages operational aspects of onsite program reviews including meetings, detailed agendas and complex multi-party scheduling
  • Coordinates comprehensive travel arrangements (flights, ground transportation, accommodations, campus access) and detailed itineraries
  • Secures appropriate campus venues, arranges catering and processes all program review related invoices while maintaining accurate financial records for all program review expenditures
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred in data science, information technology, computer science, statistics, or behavioral science and one year of program assessment coordination in a higher education setting.

Technical skills:
  • Demonstrated experience with data warehouse design ETL processes and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Argos, Cognos, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and database management systems
  • Two or more years of experience in higher education, institutional effectiveness or academic affairs office familiarity with regional or programmatic accreditation standards or processes
