Job description

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have broad knowledge of casino rules, regulations, and procedures, including good gaming security.
  • Previous guest service experience preferred.
  • The skills required for this position include either prior experience in dealing or experience acquired through attendance at a Dealers School. A comprehensive understanding of major casino games, such as Blackjack, Craps, and Roulette, is necessary for consideration for a full-time role.
  • Strong guest service orientation, able to handle monetary transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Manual dexterity to handle numerous decks of cards and chips.
  • Able to add, multiply, divide, and subtract accurately to figure payoffs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks. 
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

  • thatMust be able to respond calmly and handle many customers' demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Lifts up to a maximum of 20 pounds and frequently lifts and/or carries objects weighing up to 10 pounds. 
  • Position requires 90% standing, 5% sitting, 10% walking. 
  • Work may be performed in an area, which may be unusually noisy and crowded

  • Requires some kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead; frequent climbing and very frequent bending, pushing and twisting. 

  • Position requires manual dexterity to deal and collect cards and chips. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment. 
  • Must be able to work in areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust. 
  • Must be able to respond to speech, touch, smell, aural and visual cues.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • $9.00 per hour, with additional compensation based on a toke rate.

(hourly wage increased by $1.00  for gaming proficiency in dealing Craps)

Shift Details:

  • Swing Shift:
    • 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM  
    • 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM
    • 6:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Please be aware that the schedule may change depending on the business's operational needs, so flexibility is crucial. Shifts are assigned based on three factors: gaming knowledge, tenure in the current position, and the most recent evaluation score. There is no guarantee that you will receive your preferred schedule, as shifts are bid out frequently.

  • Always generate fun and excitement.

  • As the dealer, you run the game, monitor the table's money, pay out winnings, and collect losing bets according to the game's rules policies and procedures. 
  • Deals assigned game according to procedure.
  • Exchanges cash for gaming chips according to procedure.
  • Informs the Floorperson of any requests or unusual play.
  • Issues to guests the proper amount of gaming chips after completion of the credit authorization procedures.
  • Acknowledges, greets and converses with all guests, offering assistance and information to anyone showing an interest in table game play.
  • Routinely strives to build and maintain a rapport with table games guests.
  • Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adhere to all department/company policies and procedures.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned
