Job Description:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

We are seeking a qualified candidate with the following minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing from a nationally or regionally accredited institution.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in the state of Georgia.
  • Minimum of one to three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including medical surgical nursing.
  • Experience supporting or facilitating nursing skills lab and/or simulation-based instruction.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners in a dynamic instructional environment.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, instructional technology, and web-based systems.to student success and instructional quality in a clinical education environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

(In addition to the minimum qualifications) The ideal candidate will possess the following preferred qualifications:

  • Experience designing, implementing, or evaluating simulation scenarios in nursing education.
  • Familiarity with high- and medium-fidelity simulation equipment and instructional technologies.
  • Experience aligning simulation activities with ACEN standards and Georgia Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Prior postsecondary teaching or clinical instruction experience.
  • Knowledge of Technical College System of Georgia policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Simulation and Skills Lab Coordinator for Nursing, you will support the planning, coordination, and operation of nursing skills labs and simulation environments.

  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of nursing skills labs and simulation facilities across assigned campuses.
  • Develop, implement, and update policies, procedures, and guidelines related to simulation lab use, safety, and operations.
  • Schedule, monitor, and track the use, movement, and checkout of simulation and skills lab equipment.
  • Design, develop, implement, and continuously refine nursing simulation scenarios using evidence-based practices, role-playing, props, and structured debriefing techniques.
  • Ensure simulation and skills lab activities support course objectives, program outcomes, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and safe learning environment that promotes active learning, reflective thinking, and confidential debriefing.
  • Support nursing faculty by orienting instructors to lab procedures, equipment operation, and simulation best practices.
  • Provide remediation and skills support to nursing students, as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of lab supplies, equipment, and materials; ensure proper storage, maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional health, safety, and infection control policies, including safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to simulation effectiveness, student learning outcomes, and satisfaction.
  • Support accreditation activities by maintaining documentation and participating in preparation for ACEN reviews, site visits, and reports related to simulation and skills instruction.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to make budget recommendations related to simulation equipment, supplies, and instructional needs.
  • Participate in professional development activities to remain current with simulation technology, instructional methodologies, and nursing education standards.
  • Teach as needed in nursing program courses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Nursing programs.

SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with education and work experience. Additional benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and participation in the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
