Operating Room Registered Nurse - Day shift

Experience: Mid Level

Salary: $39 - $55 per hour

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Full time, Permanent Registered Nurse - OR Circulator to join our dynamic healthcare team.

Shift: 4x10s or 5x8s, Day shift, cases start at 7am. No nights, No weekends, No holidays, No call

Responsibilities
  • Preparing the operating room for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile conditions.
  • Adhering to safety standards and precautions, including verifying patient identity and reviewing surgical procedures to prevent errors.
  • Assessing patients before surgery (e.g., NPO status) and comforting them while alleviating their anxiety.
  • Assisting surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
  • Working together with the surgical team, communicating patient information, and ensuring patient safety during the operation.
  • Monitoring patient's vital signs and maintaining patient's safety during the operation.
  • Coordinating post-operative care, including patient recovery and room turnover.
  • Documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing patient care requirements.
  • Participating in ongoing educational activities to maintain competency and improve professional skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Connecticut state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of circulating experience in an operating room, including experience in orthopedics
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Proficient in the use of medical software and equipment.
