Day Shift Remote Data Annotation information

What is a day shift remote data annotation?

A Day Shift Remote Data Annotation job involves labeling or tagging data—such as images, text, audio, or video—so that it can be used to train machine learning models. This work is performed remotely, generally during regular daytime business hours. Data annotators follow specific guidelines to ensure accuracy and consistency, making their work crucial for the development of artificial intelligence systems. Some common tasks include identifying objects in images or transcribing spoken words in audio files. The role typically requires attention to detail and basic computer skills, but extensive technical expertise is usually not required.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a day shift remote data annotation specialist?

To excel as a Day Shift Remote Data Annotation Specialist, strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of data labeling concepts, and basic computer literacy are essential, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with annotation platforms, data management tools, and sometimes knowledge of specific industry standards or guidelines is typically expected. Excellent time management, communication skills, and the ability to work independently make candidates stand out in this remote role. These capabilities ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in processing and labeling data, which are critical for the quality of machine learning and AI projects.

What are some common challenges faced by remote data annotation professionals working day shifts, and how can they be managed?

Remote data annotation professionals on day shifts often encounter challenges such as staying focused during repetitive tasks, maintaining high accuracy, and managing communication across distributed teams. To address these, it's helpful to establish a structured daily routine, take regular short breaks to reduce eye strain and fatigue, and use productivity tools to track progress. Proactive communication with team members and supervisors—using chat platforms or regular video check-ins—also helps ensure alignment on project guidelines and fosters a collaborative remote work environment.

Job description

Vestas Eolica, S.A.U.  > Service > Global Service Operations > Remote Operations Center EMEA

As a Remote Operations Engineer at the Madrid ROC, you will be part of the strategic core ensuring the global availability of our wind turbine fleet. This high-level technical position focuses on real-time monitoring, advanced diagnostics, and remote incident resolution, directly affecting performance optimization and the reduction of the cost of energy.

What You Will Do

  • As part of our 24/7 Monitoring Team, your role is built upon three strategic pillars:
  • The Technical "Problem Solver": You will use advanced SCADA and SAP tools to diagnose why a multi-million euro machine has stopped. Your role is to determine with precision whether you can fix the issue with a single click from Madrid or if a technician must be dispatched to the field
  • The Effective Communicator: You will manage communications with customers and field technicians during urgent incidents. You demonstrate the ability to translate complex technical problems into simple, professional solutions via both phone and email
  • Operational Resilience: In a 24/7 environment, your responsibility is paramount. You will maintain high standards and attention to detail-especially during night shifts-remaining consistently meticulous with data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

What we are looking for

  • At Vestas, demonstrated real-world experience and effective problem-solving count more than formal degrees. We are looking for technicians who know the field and want to take their careers to the next digital level:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in the Wind Industry (specifically as a Field Technician or in Control Centers). Direct experience with Vestas Turbines is especially valuable
  • Alternative Experience: In the absence of wind industry experience, at least 3 years of demonstrable experience in complex hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems is required
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Energy) or Technical Associate Degree (FP Superior) in Electronics, Automation, Robotics, or Renewables
  • Languages: Intermediate English (B1/B2). You are fluent enough to respond to technical emails and handle emergency calls in an international environment
  • IT Proficient: Proficiency with diagnostic tools; prior use of SCADA and SAP is highly valued
  • Availability: Ability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift system (including nights and weekends)

What We Offer

Unique Hybrid Flexibility: Office-based in Madrid during standard shifts, with the opportunity to work from home during night shifts and weekends

Stability: A Madrid-based role with travel requirements only on a very occasional basis

Career Growth: An opportunity to shift from field-based work to directing operational strategy at a global control center

Vestas Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience, health insurance, life insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), and meal allowance (cheque gourmet)

Performance Bonus: An annual 5% bonus tied to meeting Vestas' corporate objectives

At Vestas, we believe that diversity makes us stronger. If you have a disability and are interested in this opportunity, we would be happy to get to know you and adapt the selection process to your needs.

Our commitment to a fair hiring.

At Vestas, we evaluate all candidates solely based on their professional experience, education, and relevant skills. To support a fair recruitment process, we kindly ask that you remove any photos, dates of birth or graduation, gender pronouns, marital status, or other personal information not relevant to the role before submitting your CV/resume. Your CV/resume should focus on your professional and educational background, along with the necessary contact details (email and phone number). We train our hiring teams in inclusive evaluation and regularly review process outcomes to ensure fairness.
