Job Description:

This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.

The candidate must be highly motivated with a track record of success in a global financial environment, and strong experience in application development and quality assurance testing. Exceptional analysis and troubleshooting skills focusing on environment availability, production stability, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements

  • Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements

  • Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities

  • Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements

  • Participating in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle

  • Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause

  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of dashboard capabilities to meet evolving business and operational needs.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for diagnosing and resolving dashboard-related issues.

  • Partner with dashboard owners to coordinate releases, communicate changes, and drive issue resolution.

  • Ensure all dashboard functionality, processes, and enhancements are thoroughly documented and maintained.

  • Mentor and train team members, promoting effective dashboard utilization and knowledge sharing.

  • Oversee dashboard analysis and development efforts delegated across the Operations team, conducting quality reviews of all associated Request Records (RRs).

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role

  • Experience working with front office trading platform development teams, especially with global teams.

  • Experience with Python data analysis packages and performance tuning.

  • Exceptional development knowledge in Python on Linux/UNIX, with a strong understanding of Messaging Middleware concepts, usage, and application.

  • Experience in Quality Assurance testing and batch processing.

  • Working in a global team environment and managing the workload for the global team.

  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills, excellent problem solving, and analytical skills in a high-pressure environment.

  • Solid knowledge of contemporary development processes, build environments, and testing tools.

  • Proven record with driving continuous improvements in processes and tooling.

  • Experience in 3rd line production support.

  • Knowledge or experience of agile development (e.g. XP, SCRUM, Kanban) and continuous integration.

  • Comfortable in communicating with technology and business users.
