Summary:

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for assuring the successful development and deployment of quality processes and procedures, that translate into CMP producing quality products and services, complying to specifications and requirements. This position will work with the CMP Quality Inspectors and will play a vital role in communicating findings and ensuring all quality processes are supported.

Responsibilities:

  • Learning specific customer requirements regarding quality expectations on their products and then developing the Quality Plans required to meet those expectations.
  • Interacting with customers at strategic points in the development and execution of assigned projects and involved in frequent interactions to review issues and follow-ups, periodic visits to customers, hosting customers at CMP, etc.
  • Supporting and instructing (training, work scheduling, communication) with the CMP Quality Inspectors to execute the required quality functions in the manufacturing environment.
  • Organizes MRB’s both internally and externally, as required to promptly address any found quality issues.
  • Co-ordinates, organizes and submits to customer, as required any Quality documentation (PPAP’s, FAI’s, certificate of compliances, inspection reports, calibration records).
  • Perform process audits to ensure manufacturing and quality personnel are following the required work instructions (i.e. VKS Learning System).
  • Oversee the measuring instruments being used and required by Quality and Production to inspect product efficiently and effectively.
  • Managing and bringing to completion customer and supplier corrective action requests.
  • Works with team members instituting continuous improvement via corrective and preventative actions.
  • Provide support/training/communication to production personnel on quality issues.
  • Initiating and supporting 5S and good housekeeping practices throughout the facility.
  • Designing effective gages to help inspection functions be efficient (i.e. Go/No go gages to check CTF features versus using measuring instruments, etc.).
  • Imparting knowledge and training throughout the facility on customer expectations, drawing reading, measurement techniques, tolerancing, etc.

Requirements:

  • Possess a strong knowledge and genuine interest in the quality environment.
  • Able to lead/support a team of Quality Inspectors
  • Familiar with and experience in a mechanical fabrication environment
  • Excellent blue print reading/interpretation skills
  • Good understanding of GD&T. (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite and with good computer and typing skills
  • Ability to use wide range of precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, thread gages, pin gages, etc.)
  • Proficient with geometry and trigonometry (machine shop math)
  • Have strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, retain and apply knowledge.
  • Strong analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Must be a self-starter, detail and results-oriented, energetic, and pro‑active
  • Flexible (tasks and work schedule) and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to travel periodically to customers, suppliers, and other CMP facilities
  • College/University degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technologist/Technician is preferred.
  • Minimal educational requirement is a High School/GED diploma.
  • Work experience (5-years minimum) in a mechanical field involving knowledge in machining, sheet metal, welding, spotwelding, metal blending, painting and powder coating, plating, assembly of steel, stainless steel and aluminum products

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. Position will be frequently required to walk, stand, bend, squat, and otherwise move continuously throughout shift. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
