Your role at Clorox:

The Sanitation Lead supports the daily sanitation activities at the Reno, NV manufacturing facility to help ensure a safe, clean, and compliant production environment. This position works closely with the Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to execute sanitation programs, support food safety requirements, and maintain compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards. The role assists with sanitation inspections, documentation, training, and continuous improvement activities while providing guidance and support to sanitation team members. The Sanitation Lead serves as a key resource for sanitation best practices and helps identify and resolve sanitation-related issues to protect product safety and quality.

Pay Rate: $38.41 + $1.35 Shift Differential

In this role, you will:

Operations Support - 45%

  • Support daily plant cleaning and sanitation activities to ensure effectiveness and compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct sanitation inspections, environmental monitoring activities, and routine audits.

  • Assist in maintaining and executing the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).

  • Verify sanitation documentation is completed accurately and on time.

  • Coordinate with sanitation chemical and pest control service providers and report issues as needed.

  • Work with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams to identify and resolve sanitation concerns.

Team Leadership and Coordination - 25%

  • Provide daily direction and guidance to sanitation team members during assigned shifts.

  • Promote safe work practices, food safety requirements, and GMP compliance.

  • Support onboarding and job-specific training for new sanitation employees.

  • Assist with scheduling, task assignments, and shift handoffs to ensure sanitation activities are completed.

Continuous Improvement - 15%

  • Identify opportunities to improve sanitation processes, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to sanitation findings.

  • Support implementation of process improvements and standard work practices.

  • Share best practices and recommendations to improve plant sanitation performance.

Training and Compliance Support - 10%

  • Assist in training plant personnel on sanitation procedures, GMPs, and food safety expectations.

  • Support validation and verification activities for sanitation procedures and equipment cleaning.

  • Help ensure documentation and cleaning records meet plant and regulatory requirements.

Food Safety Culture - 5%

  • Promoting a strong food safety culture by reinforcing that food safety is everyone's responsibility.

  • Encourage open communication regarding food safety and sanitation concerns.

  • Support compliance with food safety, GMP, and sanitation standards throughout the facility

What we look for:

Minimum:

  • 3 years of experience in food manufacturing

  • 1 years of experience in food manufacturing sanitation

  • Fluent in English communications. (Verbal, Written, Reading)

  • Proficient with computer software and data entry.

  • GED / high school diploma with one of the following

  • 3 years of experience in food manufacturing

  • 1 years of experience in food manufacturing sanitation

  • Able to stand and walk 7+ hours of an 8-hour shift.

  • Able to lift 35lbs on occasion.

  • Maintain composure in stressful situations.

Desirable:

  • 5 years of experience in food manufacturing

  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing quality control or

  • 1 year of experience in leadership within food manufacturing

  • Some experience with EMP risk assessment

  • Ability to present results and sanitation initiatives to an audience of 5-15 individuals.

  • Familiarity with FDA regulations

  • Bachelor of Science (Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Sciences)
