Built Differently. Owned Together.

FORJAK Industrial isn't your typical construction and coatings company, and we're not looking for a typical Senior Fleet Mechanic.

Founded in 2001 in Circleville, Ohio, FORJAK was built on a simple belief: the people doing the work should share in the success. That's why in 2022, we became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. When FORJAK wins, you win — literally.

We live by four values we call FIRE: Family · Integrity · Resilience · Excellence

FIRE represents the spirit that fuels FORJAK—who we are, how we work, and what we stand for every day.

The Role

The Senior Fleet Mechanic is part of our Shop team. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining FORJAK's fleet of vehicles, trailers, and equipment, ensuring every asset operates at peak reliability and is field-ready when the team needs it. You'll serve as the first point of contact for field fleet issues, lead outsourced repair coordination, and mentor junior technicians, all while keeping documentation and administrative fleet responsibilities current and accurate. You'll do it with the expertise and ownership mindset that defines everyone at FORJAK.

This isn't a clock-in, clock-out job. This is a career with a company that has your back, and proof of that is written into our ownership structure.

What You'll Own

On a given day, as a Senior Fleet Mechanic, you will:

Diagnostics, Repair & Maintenance

  • Diagnose and repair company fleet vehicles and trailers, including brake systems, lighting, wiper systems, and other mechanical components, ensuring all work is completed accurately and to a high standard of quality.
  • Perform routine and comprehensive maintenance on vehicles, trailers, and equipment, including oil changes, spark plug replacements, air filter changes, and scheduled service intervals to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and perform repairs on equipment scheduled for field deployment, including small engines and related tools, to confirm operational readiness before release.
  • Perform post-repair testing and quality checks on all vehicles and equipment to confirm proper operation and field readiness before returning assets to service.

Work Order Management & Field Support

  • Review and prioritize daily work orders and service requests with the Mechanic Manager, aligning repair sequencing with project schedules and urgent field needs.
  • Respond promptly to fleet issues reported from field divisions. If a FORJAK-owned vehicle has a problem in the field, you are the first point of contact and are responsible for driving resolution.
  • Coordinate outsourced repairs by serving as the primary point of contact for vendor scheduling, communication, and review of repair estimates and costs to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

Inventory & Parts Management

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of critical parts and supplies, including filters, spark plugs, oil, and brake pads, and execute purchase orders as needed to prevent repair delays due to stock shortages.

Documentation & Fleet Administration

  • Maintain and update accurate service logs within the Internal Dashboard, ensuring all entries are complete and current; analyze log data to identify service trends, performance metrics, and opportunities for proactive maintenance.
  • Complete accurate records of all service and repairs performed in Google Suite, maintaining a thorough history for future reference and preventative maintenance planning.
  • Manage administrative fleet responsibilities, including vehicle registration, insurance documentation, fuel card assignments, and fleet tracking updates, to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Shop Standards & Team Development

  • Keep all shop equipment and tools clean, organized, and in safe working condition at all times — a well-maintained shop is a productive shop.
  • Assist in training new hires and junior technicians on basic repair tasks, safety protocols, shop procedures, and company policies as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety and work policies.
  • Remain flexible, taking on miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership to support evolving organizational needs.

Do You Have What It Takes?

We're not just filling a seat. We're adding someone to a team of owners.

You must bring:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical experience with a strong background in vehicle service and repair.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Valid and current driver's license and auto insurance; ability to comfortably pull, maneuver, and back up a trailer.
  • Familiarity with generators, small tool repairs (drills, saws), basic electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to stay organized under pressure.
  • A team-first attitude — ego doesn't build great things, people do.

Even Better

  • 1–2 years of welding and fabrication experience.
  • 1–2 years of forklift and scissor lift operation experience.
  • Specialized expertise in servicing Ford trucks or medium-duty fleet vehicles.
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics.

How You'll Know You're Winning

Great FORJAK team members don't just complete tasks; they move the needle.

You're winning when:

  • Every vehicle and trailer in the fleet is maintained, documented, and field-ready.
  • Field teams get fast, reliable answers when fleet issues arise on the road.
  • Work orders are completed accurately and on schedule — no deferred maintenance, no surprise breakdowns.
  • Your service logs are current, complete, and tell the full story of every asset.
  • You're trusted, consistent, and people want to work alongside you.
  • You're growing in skills, in responsibility, and as a co-owner of this company.
  • You bring FIRE to everything you do.

What's In It for You

We take care of our people. Here's what being a FORJAK team member looks like:

Ownership & Financial

  • 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP): you're not just an employee; you're an owner.
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Retention bonus.

Health & Well-Being

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance eligibility.
  • $10,000 life insurance policy at no cost to you.
  • Life Insurance & Accidental Death Insurance.
  • Short-Term Disability Plans.
  • Accident Insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Time & Culture

  • Monthly PTO accrual + PTO Buy Program.
  • Employee Referral Bonus Program.
  • Company-provided work apparel.
  • Company-provided vehicle for work assignments.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.

Eligibility may vary based on employment status and position.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work setting: Shop / Indoor & Outdoor combination.
  • May involve: Standing for extended periods; lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy parts and equipment; working indoors and outdoors including non-climate-controlled areas; operating vehicles, trailers, forklifts, and scissor lifts; exposure to grease, fluids, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • PPE required in applicable environments.
  • Reasonable accommodations available in accordance with applicable law.
