Position Description
Position Summary
The Crusher Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of aggregate crushing equipment to produce materials that meet project specifications. This role includes monitoring, operating, and maintaining the crusher plant, conveyors, screens, and associated equipment. The Crusher Operator works closely with the production team to ensure output meets quality, quantity, and safety standards while minimizing downtime and equipment wear.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor crushing equipment, conveyors, screens, and supporting machinery.
  • Adjust equipment settings to achieve required product specifications.
  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment and complete daily inspection reports
  • Monitor plant operations for efficiency, quality, and safety, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform basic maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs to keep equipment in proper working order.
  • Communicate equipment issues to the Plant Foreman or Maintenance personnel promptly.
  • Load, unload, and move materials to and from storage and production areas.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, removing debris and ensuring safe walking/working surfaces.
  • Follow all company, OSHA, MSHA, and environmental regulations related to aggregate production.
  • Assist with plant setup, tear-down, and relocation as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other crew members to meet production targets and deadlines.

Report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents immediately.
Position Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in crusher operation or aggregate plant work preferred.
  • Knowledge of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and production specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong awareness of safety practices and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Work is performed outdoors in a construction or quarry environment with exposure to noise, dust, vibration, extreme temperatures, and moving machinery.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks.

Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
