Job description

Our growing manufacturing client in Elgin, IL is hiring a 3rd shift injection molding process technician.
The Injection Molding Process Technician executes plans and processes to produce high quality injection molded products for our durable, connectivity solution. The Process Technician is responsible for coordinating the molding efforts on new program launches, setting up and/or revising manufacturing processes, and assisting the manufacturing and engineering teams in problem solving and continuous process improvements. This position also mentors and provides training to other injection molding personnel.
How you will help this winning team:
  • Setup, operate, and troubleshoot various injection molding machines at high efficiency
  • Perform mold set-up and changes as required by production schedule
  • Make process parameter adjustments (temperature, pressure, injection speed, cycle times), quality inspections, and ensure safety and efficiency
  • Inspect molds for damage or excessive wear and complete basic mold maintenance repairs
  • Work with external tool shop for extensive repairs and maintenance
  • Use basic tool shop equipment
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001
  • Perform basic programming Servo robotic equipment and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the automation is operating efficiently
  • Assist with setting up injection molding machines and all related auxiliary equipment
  • Allow the manufacture of product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels
  • Collaborate with engineering team to meet customer requirements
Skills, Knowledge and abilities you need to bring:
  • High school or equivalent required
  • 5+ years injection molding machine experience required, knowledge of thermoplastics and resines
  • Arburg machine experience highly preferred
  • Experience with molding automation such as programming, troubleshooting, robotics, sensors, PLCs, and related equipment
  • Working knowledge of terminology and technical experience with injection molding of thermoplastics, processes, tooling and validation protocols
  • Must be able to speak and read English proficiently including good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to make process improvement recommendations
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
