Job description

Quick2Hire is seeking an experienced Medical Collector to join our team!

Assignment Details

  • Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
  • Shift Times: Vary between 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Dress Code: Business Casual

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of experience in hospital accounts receivable, medical collections follow-up, or healthcare collections
  • Experience with UB-04 facility claims and institutional claim follow-up
  • Knowledge of hospital billing processes, CPT/ICD coding, and DRG reimbursement methodologies
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial payer guidelines
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for payer interactions
  • Proficient in hospital billing systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for claim denials and payment variances

Responsibilities

  • Review hospital accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collection activities
  • Follow up with insurance carriers regarding outstanding balances and unresolved claims
  • Perform collection and follow-up activities for facility claims across all lines of business
  • Investigate, resolve, and appeal denied, rejected, or underpaid claims to maximize reimbursement
  • Conduct institutional claim follow-up using UB-04 billing guidelines
  • Verify patient eligibility through insurance websites, payer portals, and customer service representatives
  • Collaborate with billing and other internal departments to resolve account discrepancies
  • Accurately document all collection and follow-up activities within the hospital billing system
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, hospital policies, and applicable state and federal requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hospital revenue cycle environment
  • Strong understanding of insurance reimbursement methodologies and denial management
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet productivity goals in a fast-paced setting
