Ergonomics Specialist – ProgressiveHealth Occ Health, LLC – Atlanta, GA
We are seeking an energetic and engaging Ergonomics Specialist to join our Ergonomics Center team supporting a major airline carrier at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
In this unique role, you will serve as an ergonomic coach and trainer, helping employees learn safe work practices through hands-on instruction, movement coaching, and operational simulations. This position combines injury prevention, ergonomics, employee education, and early intervention services to help reduce workplace injuries and improve employee performance in a dynamic aviation environment.

What will you be doing in this role?
Ergonomic Training & Education
  • Lead ergonomic and lift training programs in both classroom and operational settings
  • Facilitate hands-on simulations and movement coaching designed to improve employee safety and performance
  • Observe employee movement patterns and provide real-time coaching and feedback
  • Educate employees on proper body mechanics, injury prevention strategies, and safe work practices
Injury Prevention & Early Intervention
  • Provide proactive injury prevention services, injury care, assessment, and medical triage as defined by OSHA standards
  • Deliver ergonomic postural education and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Escalate employees for additional medical care when appropriate
Ergonomic Assessments & Program Support
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments by understanding site operations, job processes, and physical demands
  • Develop recommendations aimed at reducing injury risk and improving employee safety
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workforce health and ergonomics
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback to employees and client leadership regarding health and safety opportunities
  • Understand and report key program metrics to leadership, client partners, and operations management

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field such as Exercise Physiology, Occupational Ergonomics, Health & Wellness, Health Promotion, Human Performance, Human Factors, Safety & Environmental, Public Health, Sports Science, Physical Education, Fitness, Personal Training, or Athletics
  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
  • Basic knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA regulations, preferred
  • The ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout entire assigned shift
  • Ergonomic and/or occupational health experience
  • Previous experience with public speaking in a training environment is preferred
  • A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
