The Federal Work Study Esports Event Caster works as on-air personality and primary storyteller for the program's live competitive broadcasts. Based This Federal Work Study position works onsite in the broadcast studio, this Federal Work Study position helps with translating intense, fast-paced game mechanics into entertaining, educational narrative commentary for viewers. The Federal Work Study Event Caster will assist the Esports Manager with meta-game knowledge across active titles, project high energy, adapt gracefully to technical adjustments, and deliver structured post-game analysis.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with analytical research on team match histories, player stat trends, win conditions, and current game updates prior to airtime.
  • Assist with delivering engaging, high-quality live play-by-play or color commentary during regional and national collegiate tournament broadcasts as needed.
  • Participate in pre-show production meetings, audio mic checks, and real-time broadcast cues directed by the staging crew.
  • Lead pre-match introductory segments, half-time breakdowns, and post-match storyline wrap-ups to anchor the stream narrative.
  • Assists with conducting professional interviews with players, team captains, and coaching staff for broadcast features.

Qualifications:
  • Candidates with vocal control, clear diction, and the ability to maintain high verbal stamina and an engaging on-camera presence during multi-hour broadcasts is preferred.
  • Knowledge of core competitive game titles (specifically the macro mechanics, win conditions, and meta strategies of Overwatch, Valorant, or Smash Bros) is preferred.
  • Ability to meet timelines with efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in independent and team-based settings.
  • Self-motivated; excellent time management and organization.
  • Ability to work some weekends and regular hours (up to 20 hours per week).
  • Passion for games and esports is preferred.

Pay Rate :
$19.61 per hour
