Job description

The Day Shift Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment throughout the manufacturing facility during daytime operations. This position monitors facility access, conducts patrols, assists employees and visitors, and responds to safety or security concerns in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, professional, and comfortable working in an active industrial environment with frequent employee and visitor interaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Security & Access Control

  • Monitor and control access to the manufacturing facility, including employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security procedures and access control measures.
  • Verify identification, issue visitor badges, and maintain visitor logs.
  • Conduct routine patrols of the facility, parking lots, and surrounding property.
  • Monitor security cameras and report suspicious activity immediately.
  • Ensure all gates, entrances, and restricted areas remain secure.
  • Investigate suspicious activity, theft concerns, safety violations, or unauthorized access.

Security Program Implementation

  • Recommend and implement preventative security measures to reduce theft, vandalism, and operational risk.
  • Assist management with facility emergency response planning and security protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to security, safety, and visitor management.
  • Coordinate with leadership regarding incident prevention strategies and facility improvements.
  • Maintain key control procedures and restricted access documentation.

Safety & Incident Response

  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, accidents, and disturbances quickly and professionally.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and communicate findings to management.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations related to security incidents or policy violations

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate daily activity logs and security documentation.
  • Coordinate with management regarding deliveries, vendors, or facility access.
  • Report maintenance or security-related concerns throughout the property.

Professionalism & Customer Service

  • Maintain a professional and courteous presence at all times.
  • Provide directions and assistance to employees, vendors, and guests.
  • Represent the company positively while enforcing policies consistently.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior security, military, law enforcement, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain alert and observant throughout the shift.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods of time.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
