### Locums | Neonatology | Hattiesburg, MS (MS or IMLC)### Why This Role

  • Expedited seven-day credentialing
  • Manageable NICU volume of three to five patients per shift

  • ### Assignment Details
  • Coverage Dates: September 14‚Äì18, 2026
  • Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours plus beeper call
  • Clinical Hours: To be confirmed
  • Setting: Inpatient Level III NICU
  • NICU Size: 10 beds
  • Patient Volume: Approximately three to five per shift
  • Call Response Time: 15 minutes
  • Phone Consults: Approximately four
  • Patients Seen While on Call: Approximately four
  • Admissions: Approximately one
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Credentialing: Approximately seven days
  • Temporary Privileges: Available
  • Support Team: Two RNs, one MA, and one office staff member
  • ### Requirements
  • Board-Certified Neonatologist
  • Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship training
  • Active Mississippi license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification
  • Current PALS
  • Current Level III NICU competency
  • Invasive and noninvasive neonatal ventilation experience
  • Ability to cover the full September 14‚Äì18 block
  • ### Clinical Details
  • Manage acute and chronic neonatal ventilation
  • Perform newborn intubation and airway stabilization
  • Manage CPAP, BiPAP, and inhaled nitric oxide
  • Attend high-risk cesarean deliveries
  • Place central, arterial, umbilical venous, and umbilical arterial lines
  • Perform lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
  • Insert chest tubes and perform needle decompression
  • Perform exchange transfusions
  • Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood-pressure issues
  • Interpret neonatal X-rays and EKGs
  • Round on assigned and unassigned patients
  • No APP, resident, or teaching supervision responsibilities
