Through excellent customer service, suggestive selling, merchandising, and store operations support, you will help drive sales, maintain store standards, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.WHAT YOU WILL DO Customer Service & SalesProvide exceptional customer service by following the established Customer Service Process.Greet customers, engage them in conversation, and recommend Pepperidge Farm products.Suggestively sell featured items, including Behind-the-Counter Specials, to every customer.Help increase sales, bakery sales, and average transaction value through product knowledge and customer engagement.Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company dress code standards.Merchandising & InventoryDevelop and maintain a strong understanding of all Pepperidge Farm products and proper handling procedures.Ensure products are properly displayed, organized, and merchandised for an excellent customer shopping experience.Maintain accurate pricing using established Red-Black-Blue pricing strategies.Receive, rotate, stock, and merchandise incoming product shipments.Process distributor returns accurately.Assist with unloading deliveries when needed.Store OperationsPerform store opening and closing procedures.Operate cash registers and follow cash handling policies.Protect company assets by following security, cash control, recordkeeping, and loss prevention procedures.Maintain store cleanliness on the sales floor, stockroom, and restroom areas.Complete assigned tasks accurately and within established timeframes.Support efficient store operations in the absence of management.Perform additional duties as assigned.WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH Store Managers and Assistant ManagersRetail Sales AssociatesCustomers and Community MembersProduct Delivery Drivers and DistributorsOperations and Inventory Support TeamsWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE (MUST HAVE)High school diploma, GED, or currently working toward completion.Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a retail environment.Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, correspondence, and operational documents.Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday schedules as required.Ability to open and close the store independently when scheduled.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, potentially exceeding eight hours per shift.Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise throughout the workday.Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE (NICE TO HAVE)Previous retail, customer service, cashier, or sales experience.Experience handling cash and operating point-of-sale systems.Experience with merchandising, stocking, and inventory rotation.Experience working in bakery, grocery, food retail, or convenience store environments.Previous experience opening and closing a retail location.Knowledge of suggestive selling and customer engagement techniques.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.Frequent bending, reaching, and squatting.Occasional balancing, climbing, and kneeling.Ability to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to push and pull carts, racks, and merchandise weighing up to 200 pounds.Ability to work in areas with occasional freezer exposure.Work Environment:This role is performed primarily indoors (approximately 95%) with occasional outdoor activity (approximately 5%). Employees may be exposed to cold temperatures when handling frozen products. The position requires frequent movement, stocking, merchandising, customer interaction, and maintaining store cleanliness throughout each shift.Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
